Mountain AHEC in Asheville, NC

The Asheville rotation accepts three students per rotation. Current staffing icludes six full-time and one part-time faculty physicians, four certified nurse-midwives, two nurse practitioners and 16 residents. Students who require housing must complete an application.

Chapel Hill
NC Women's Hospital at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC

Each of the maximum of four students are assigned to blocks in obstetrics, gynecologic oncology, and benign gynecology. There are a variety of learning experiences with faculty, residents, fellows and midwives in various divisions.

Charlotte
Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC

Four students may be assigned to Charlotte and scheduled to blocks of obstetrics, gynecology, and gynecologic oncology. Along with 15 full-time faculty members, the Charlotte residency program has 20 residents. Students who require housing must complete an application and provide a $50.00 refundable deposit.

Raleigh

There can be a maximum of three students at Wake for a mixed experience in obstetrics and gynecology. The residents at Wake are from the UNC program and there are 9 full time faculty members. There are no housing facilities at Wake.

Wilmington
Coastal AHEC at New Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington, NC

Wilmington accepts a maximum of two students (every other block) for a combination of obstetrics and gynecology. There are six full-time faculty members and 12 residents. Students are housed in apartments adjacent to the hospital, usually two students to a room.

Charlotte Orientation:

 

FIRST DAY OF YOUR ROTATION - You will park in the Morehead Medical Plaza parking deck (employee/staff entrance-see map, #25). The code to enter that building that day will be emailed to you the week prior to your rotation. If you have trouble getting into the deck, just go in the visitor entrance and bring your parking ticket for me to validate. On your first day, you will get an ID Badge that will be programmed to let you in the MMP deck the remainder of your rotation.

You will need to report to the Department of OB/GYN, 3rd floor of the ROB Building (see attached map, #9) at 7:45 a.m. DO NOT GO TO THE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE IN THE MOREHEAD MEDICAL PLAZA. The ROB building has a secured entrance. If I am not downstairs waiting on you, please call 5-3829, from the house phone located beside the entrance, and leave a message. If you arrive after 8:00, please call 5-3153 and ask the secretary to let you in, and the then proceed to the 5th floor conference room.

An orientation meeting will be held at which time you will receive your schedules and other orientation materials.
