We are looking forward to your Third Year Clerkship in Obstetrics and Gynecology beginning next week

All students are to report to their individual sites* for this orientation at the site’s designated time on Monday, June 2 , 2008 . (Subtest Information)

There is no student holiday during your rotation.

In an effort to get to know you better, please complete the student information sheet and give that to your site coordinator on orientation day.

All sites in OB/GYN use the same grade requirements and evaluation forms.  The requirements and grade breakdown is as follows:


Requirements

For successful completion of this clerkship the student must:

1. Complete all graded components

     a. Clinical Evaluations
     b. Oral Presentation
     c. Oral Exam
     d. NBME Exam

2. Successfully complete Clinical Work Card booklets

3. Participate actively and professionally in patient care activities

4. Demonstrate appropriate professional conduct. (see General Policies and Clinical Evaluation )

Clerkship Grading

Final Grade Composition

Clinical Evaluation: 60%

Oral Examination: 15%

Oral Presentation: 5% Each student will pick a topic of interest in OB/GYN and prepare a 10-15 minute talk. Please contain your presentation to the allotted time.

NBME Exam: 20%  A passing grade on this exam is required to successfully pass the clerkship. 

Completion of 80% of Clinical Work Cards will also be required for successful completion of the clerkship. The requirements as relates to students final grade are discussed at Orientation.

Completion of 2 Professional Assessment forms and demonstrate "Appropriate" Professional Conduct on 80%

Don't forget to check with your program directors/residents/attendings (whomever you have been spending the most time with) who could give you the most helpful feedback mid-rotation to evaluate your progress.

Your Subtest will be Friday, June 27 , 2008 in the OR Classroom, located on the second floor of the Main Hospital. Please be there no later than 1:30.
